Jipgourmand Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Jipgourmand team (the "Operator") collects, uses, and shares information about users of the mobile application "Jipgourmand" (the "Service").

1. Information We Collect

To provide the Service, we collect the following information:

2. How We Use Information

Account management: Create, maintain, and authenticate user accounts via social login
Service delivery: AI-powered family-tailored meal plans, shopping list management, favorite recipes
Community features: Posts, comments, likes, follows, reporting/blocking
Push notifications: Notify users of new followers, comments, etc. (toggleable in settings)
Advertising: Serve and measure ads via AdMob (revenue and AI-call abuse mitigation)

3. Data Retention

We retain personal information while the user maintains an active account. When a user deletes their account via the in-app "Delete Account" feature, we permanently delete the following:

User account information (Firebase Auth)
User profile (nickname, photos, etc.)
User-generated posts, comments, favorites, meal/shopping data
Household membership (if last member, the entire household and its data are deleted)
Follow relationships and push notification tokens

Where applicable law requires retention (e.g., e-commerce or telecom regulations), we may retain data for the legally mandated period in a separate secure store before deletion.

4. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell personal information. We share data only in the following cases:

With your prior consent
When required by law or lawful legal process
Within the community feature, posts, comments, and profiles you create are publicly visible to other users

5. Service Providers (Sub-processors)

We use the following third-party services to operate Jipgourmand:

Sub-processors may only use the data for the contracted purpose and must safeguard it according to applicable laws and our instructions.

6. AI Feature Notice

To generate family-tailored meal plans and recipes, we send the following information to the Gemini API operated by Google LLC:

Each family member's name, gender, age, nationality, notes, allergies, and disliked foods
Any request you type when generating a meal plan

This transfer happens only after you explicitly consent in the app. The first time you use an AI feature we show you exactly what will be sent and ask for your consent; without consent, AI features are unavailable. You can withdraw consent at any time under "Settings → AI data sharing", after which we will ask again the next time you use an AI feature.

The data is used solely to generate meal plans and recipes and is never used for advertising. Google processes this data per their own policies.

7. Advertising Identifier and Ads

The Service shows AdMob (Google) ads.

Android: Your advertising identifier (AAID) may be used to serve and measure ads. Go to Settings → Google → Ads to reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads.
iOS: The Service does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not collect the advertising identifier (IDFA). We therefore do not track you across other companies' apps and websites, and only non-personalized ads are shown.

8. Your Rights

Access & Update: Edit your data in "My Page", "Edit Profile", and "Family Settings" within the app.
Deletion: Use "Settings → Delete Account" to permanently delete your account and related data. No support contact required.
Notification Opt-out: "Settings → Notification Settings" lets you toggle notification types individually.
Block users: Block from a user's profile; manage blocks in "Settings → Block List".

9. Security

Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
Access control via Firebase Security Rules (Firestore, Storage)
Minimized administrator privileges and access controls
Server-side processing via Cloud Functions Admin SDK

10. Children Under 14

The Service does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14. If we discover that we have collected data from a child without parental consent, we will delete it immediately.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as laws or the Service change. Material changes will be announced in-app or on this page in advance.
